Comments by the flag bearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo that he will not abandon the projects of President John Mahama gives credence to the fact that the opposition leader is seeing the good works done by the governing party, Deputy General Secretary of the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC), Mr Koku Anyidoho has said.
According to him, Mr Akufo-Addo’s remarks were an indication that he had thrown in the towel as far as the December 7 presidential and parliamentary elections were concerned.
Mr Akufo-Addo, while on a tour of the Volta Region last week said: “One of the tragedies of this nation is the long list of abandoned projects dotted around this country; we (NPP) have committed ourselves to tackling this disgraceful phenomenon through the National Asset Protection Project to ensure the continuity of projects.”
“We, in the NPP, do not see the construction of the road from Asikuma through Peki to Hohoe, no matter what it is christened, as a party political obligation on a ruling party. We see it as part of our national commitment to improve upon the lives of the people.”
He added that “anyone who has been on the roads that I have been on recently, be it Yendi to Saboba, or Asikuma through Peki through to Hohoe or Jasikan or Dambai to Nkwanta, no one who has been on any of these roads or similar ones around this country would even think of abandoning work on them because it was started by a political opponent. That is not the NPP way.”
But speaking to this issue in an interview with Chef Jerry Forson, host of Ghana Yensom on Accra 100.5FM on Monday, 31 October, Mr Anyidoho said: “We thank God that finally Nana Addo has seen the light and speaking the truth that the NDC government is working and that he will continue when he wins. Just a few days ago, they were saying that John Mahama has not done anything.”
“This comment by Nana Addo is a clear testimony that President Mahama is working very hard, and the evidence is clear for everybody including the NPP and its flag bearer to see. We in the NDC welcome Nana Addo’s observations but Ghanaians will vote for the NDC to ensure continuity.”
“It is a miracle that today the NPP has admitted that the government is working. This should tell Ghanaians to believe in President Mahama and vote for him.”
Meanwhile, a deputy General Secretary of the NPP, Nana Obiri Boahen told show host, Chief Jerry Forson that there was nothing wrong with the comment by Mr Akuf-Addo.
According to him, governance is all about continuity “and so I see nothing wrong with the comment.”

ohhhh Koku, is it English that you don't understand or what. Now look at that statement from the reverse; isn't it true that the offordable housing scheme started under ex president Koffour had been left unattented to until your governments failed stx project? is that not the Ghanaian tax payers money? that is why it takes the wise to understand some of these things.it is common reasoning alone. short of that, you only exhibit naivety like you just said. tell us where you had the money to buy your ridge land for 1M USD just after the demise of prez Mills(may his soul rest in peace)but hunt the perpetrators of.......God is writing on the wall. FIRE, FIRE, FIRE burn you!!!!!!!!
Nana is showing maturity unlike NDC which abundant the housing project started by Kuffour some were almost complete and 8 years down the road they are infested with squatters across the length and breadth of the country. After all governance is about continuity, wise up Koku for your have been disturbing our ears with cock-a dododo analysis
