President John Mahama has assured the incumbent Member of Parliament for Ningo-Prampram, E.T. Mensah, that he will not be sidelined in his next administration if he wins the election.
According to the President, E.T. Mensah, who lost the National Democratic Congress’ (NDC) parliamentary primary in the Ningo-Prampram constituency to Sam George, should not despair despite his loss.
Mahama, who made the comment during the NDC campaign launch in the area, commended ET Mensah, saying he plays a very important role in his administration and urged the MP to move on.
“Sometimes when God closes one door, don’t stand in front of that door and weep; look around to see he has opened another door for you. Don’t stand there and be weeping and say God why have you closed this door to me. My brother ET Mensah is a very important member of our party and we all appreciate him very much; but the time comes when you have to move on and you will move on to better things. In my administration, ET will not struggle to do something in my administration.”
“And so I want himself and all the people who support him, the chiefs, parliamentary candidates and everybody to become one strong Ningo-Prampram constituency.
Sam George defeated ET Mensah in NDC primary
Sam George in 2016 defeated E.T Mensah in the party’s primaries; ending his 20 year reign as MP.
Sam George polled 63% of the total votes cast in the primary while E.T. Mensah had 38.5%.
The relationship between the two NDC members had become sour after the primary.

So does it mean that some of these so called big men cannot establish their own businesses? They always want to depend on the state for their survival. It is so pathetic that after ET Mensah stayed in parliament for about 20 years he is still thinking of getting employment in the next government. How can you advise young graduates to create their own jobs when you the old graduates are not able to create some?
If everything was okay why would you go plead. ET is too smart for this.
The only way NDC and Mahama use to silent descent in their party. That's why the people and party are so corrupt and stealers because they look on whilst they bleed the country. They're frightened such corrupt officials might leave the party if sanctioned. THIS ISN'T NPP WAY
Immediately John Mahama became president in 2012, E. T. Mensah, Cletus Avoka and Alban Bagbin were relegated to the background for the simple reason that they were senior to John Mahama and therefore he didn't feel comfortable with themaround. He created a phantom position called 'Three Wise Men' for them and made it almost impossible for any of them to approach him with Stan Dogbe as the chief security officer at the gate. After Gbagbin made so much noise and threatened John with some revelations he was returned to the position of Majority Leader in Parliament. Now that John Mahamaknows that the people of Prampram are so angry at the way E. T. was dealt with in the primaries, and is staring defeat in the face at Ningo Prampram, he now finds it necessary to go back to E. T. to deceive him again. If John Mahama knew the importance of E. T. in his government he would not have used Sam George to get rid of him with impunity the way he did. The bare fact is that JM is worried about any of JJ and Atta Mills' team members getting around him. He wants to build his own team that he will be comfortable with and steal Ghana's money with. I hope E. T. will not be deceived by JM. After now that you are still an MP he doesn't see the need to engage you in any position. How much more when you are not an MP? JOm is deceiving E. T. the way he has deceived the rest of Ghanaians and stolen all our money.
