The disqualified flagbearer of the Progressive People’s Party Dr. Papa Kwesi Nduom has warned the electoral commission to reverse his disqualification or be hit with a court action.
According to the business magnate, a five minute conversation between him and the EC chair person can resolve the irregularity that caused his disqualification.
“All I ask for is just five minutes with Mrs Charlotte Osei and the whole issue will be resolved. If not, then we have no option than to go court,” the groupe Ndoum founder told his teeming supporters at the party’s headquarters in Accra Tuesday.
He added: "We are not here to quarrel with anybody. We are not here to cause confusion anyway. We know our rights and we will sit and stand but we will do so in peaceful manner— so that when the Ghanaian people encounter our character and the content that we have, they will know that truly' these are the people that can take of this nation.
"So to you; our parliamentary candidates and all of our supporters everywhere, I am telling you no one can kill the love that we have for our country and our determination to move this country forward".
Dr. Nduom noted that he is expecting a response to his request from the EC by Thursday after which he will explore his options.
The EC on Monday announced the disqualification of 12 candidates including Dr. Nduom, Dr. Hassan Ayariga of APC, Nana Konadu Agyeman Rawlings of the NDP, Dr. Edward Mahama of the PNC, Dr. Henry Lartey of the GCPP for failing to meet the nomination requirement for the Presidential contest.
Nomination form anomalies and many others were cited for their individual disqualification.
Many of the affected candidates have threatened to sue the EC over the move.

No sense EC chair
I'm very disappointed with this EC woman. Because PPP took them to court at the initial stage. They are trying all means to pay back! Witch hunting will never stop in Ghana. Is she telling us now that, EC hasn't made any mistake since her time in that particular office? I can now believe her position was a strategic appointment to do "ways and Mean" for NDC. NPP should prepare for this woman.
The earlier this woman called Charlotte Osei is stopped in her tracks the better before she plunges this nation into the abyss. She has not been fair at all to the likes of Dr. E.N. Mahama (not the joker) and Dr. PK. Nduom especially the latter and Mrs. Rawlings. The reasons ascribed to their disqualifications do not make sense and has no basis in law. For instance, the EC can't punish Mrs. Rawlings if they (the EC) have done multiple registrations for voters. Btw was this not the same EC who said the Electoral Roll is clean and even used the police to visit mayhem on LMVC demonstrators for asking for a fresh register? Let's pray for this country to be great again. #MahamaTwaso#
The drooling Lilliput Akuffo Addo cannot rule Ghana. He is an ***barred word***.
AH, COMPETENT NDUOM!!! FIVE MINUTES FOR WHAT?? IF ONE IS REFUSED A VISA, DOES HE GO BACK AND SEEK AUDIENCE WITH THE CONSUL??? KEEP QUIET AND REFLECT ON YOUR WORDS!!! THEY ALWAYS COME BACK TO BITE!!!
WE ARE NOW SEEING THE AND INTERPRETING THE GAME SERIOUSLY. COLLECTIVELY, WE WILL THROW OUT THE ***barred word***
some of the errors can be corrected and the candidates reinstated.... What will happen if incompetent John Mahama is disqualified using these same reasons? what will NDC do?
