The flag bearer of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) will not declare his assets ahead of filing his nominations at the Electoral Commission (EC), acting General Secretary of the party, John Boadu, has stated.
As part of the requirements for the filing of nominations for the 2016 elections, the EC has requested presidential and parliamentary aspirants to declare their assets but Mr Boadu said the law that supported that request had been repealed.
He told Prince Minkah on Class91.3FM’s Executive Breakfast Show: “You do not have to do it if you are not a public officer. The law on which the EC even gave the directions is a law that has been repealed. So it is not applicable.”
He explained that what the three-time presidential aspirant will do is to “file his tax returns but will not declare his assets”.
Mr Boadu explained that sitting members of parliament who are seeking re-election were mandated to declare their assets as well as the president of the country. He said that filling of assets declaration forms is not even “done at the point of filing of nominations”.
He entreated the EC to be more “measured” in its communications to the public and base same on the laws of the country.

Nana!! Wob3 declare!! W)b)a koraaa!!!! Wobe declare wo assets! John Boadu, it's just fair to comply so some African misconceptions may not apply after his term should he emerge winner. I think its in his advantage declaring his assets. We should rather strongly encourage him to do it!
you not curupt and what stop you to declear your asset? the fact is nana addo is bankrupt and has no asset, and cant declear his fathers house
THE POINT IS THAT, DOES HE EVEN HAVE ANY ASSET STANDING? THE PERSONALITY IS INDEBTED TO HIMSELF. ABR) NI BEYIE. HE NEEDS TO TAKE MORPHINE INJECTION EVERY TWO WEEKS TO ABATE THE SEVERE CANCEROUS PAINS INFLICTED ON HIMSELF DUE TO EXCESSIVE DRUG USE DURING HIS YOUTHFUL DAYS. A REASON HE HAS VOWED NOT TO BE BURIED IF HE DOES NOT BECOME THE PRESIDENT OF THIS NATION. BUT KOFI KOOMSON SAYS HE CANT SLEEP, SHOULD NANA ADDO IS PRESIDENT. ITS NOT SAFE. SAY HIM.
