"once again when our democratic credentials are tested, on December 7, we would respond with vigour and deliver yet another peaceful, fair and transparent elections to the world" said President John Dramani Mahama.
The President made this remark while addressing Muslims at the Independence Square during the Eid-al Adha prayers, Monday.
President Mahama urged Ghanaians to uphold the peace of this country especially as we draw closer to the 2016 elections.
"once again when our democratic credentials are tested, on December 7, we would respond with vigour and deliver yet another peaceful, fair and transparent elections to the world... I am always thankful that Allah has blessed me with the opportunity to be the president of such as industrious, united and peace-loving people like Ghanaians” he said

President Mahama has also apologised for government’s inability to airlift all Muslims scheduled to fly to Saudi Arabia for the 2016 Hajj pilgrimage.
According to him, “I wish to express my regret to all who due to certain reasons were unable to embark on the Hajj this year.”
“to all who due to certain reasons were unable to embark on the hajj this year, this was due to two main factors: first, it was the airlifting of 2000 persons in the Tamale international airport, which was very well patronised to reduce the quota of those who took off in Accra. Second is the dramatic growth of pilgrim numbers beyond the quota that has been assigned to Ghana by the Saudi authorities. I have asked our hajj committee to request an increase in our quota of pilgrims from the current 5424 to 7000 pilgrims next year” he added.
