President John Dramani Mahama has nominated four persons for the position of District Chief Executives (DCEs), an official statement, has said.
The statement said President Mahama, also in accordance with article 243 (3) (b) of the 1992 Constitution, had directed the revocation of the appointment of Mr Joseph Dofoyenah, District Chief Executives for Ahanta West with immediate effect.
The nominees are Mr Bukari Darimani, Sissala West District, and Mr Seidu Cletus Dapila, Jirapa District both in the Upper West Region.
The others are Mr David Wuni, West Mamprusi District and Mr Sampoa Timothy Laari, Bunkrugu/ Yunyoo both in the Northern Region.
The statement, signed by Mr Julius Debrah, Minister of Local Government and Rural Development, and copied to the Ghana News Agency, in Accra, on Tuesday said: “The President has also re-nominated Alhaji Alhassan Musah as DCE for Kumbungu in the Northern Region”.
The nominations are in accordance with article 243(1) of the 1992 Constitution and section 20(1) of the Local Government Act, 1993.
The statement requested the Regional Ministers to initiate the necessary actions for their confirmation by the various District Assemblies.
