The New Patriotic Party (NPP) parliamentary candidate for the Ablekuma South constituency, Ms Ursula Owusu, has described Eva LokkoοΏ½s affiliation to the Progressive PeopleοΏ½s Party (PPP) as a wrong choice.
Ms Owusu said though Mrs. Lokko is competent, the party will not make any positive impact on her political ambition.
The former Director General of the Ghana Broadcasting Corporation was approved by the partyοΏ½s Executive Committee and outdoored to party supporters on Wednesday.
Speaking to Citi News, Ms. Owusu said, οΏ½this has nothing to do with her competency or capabilities. The party ticket she is standing on does not have a realistic chance of winning elections, so she is in the wrong party.οΏ½
She, however, described the position given Ms Lokko as an honour saying, οΏ½you have been chosen to partner someone who is running as president in the Republic of Ghana, and itοΏ½s an honour. But letοΏ½s be realistic, the best the PPP can achieve is to come third. There is no way they are going to beat either the NPP or the NDC [National Democratic Congress]. It is not possible.οΏ½
οΏ½Paa Kwesi Nduom himself stood for elections the last time and did worse than [George] Aggudey. He may improve his performance now, but he can never translate the percentage of votes that he can cover into an election victory,οΏ½ said Ms Owusu.
