The Centre for Democratic Development has rubbished calls on the flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party, (NPP) Nana Akufo-Addo to make a public pronouncement on Hon. Kennedy Agyepongs comment.
According to CDD Ghana, the NPPs official statement disclaiming itself from the treason statement made by the Assin North MP represents the party in its entirety.
The party in a statement said it does not support intemperate statements and actions that can incite and inflame ethnic passions.
Senior programmes officer with the CDD, Paul Aborampah in an interview with XYZ NEWS said the excessive pressure being mounted on Nana Addo to comment on the matter is unnecessary.
Mr. Paul Aborampah also added that the reaction by Ghanas Vice President John Mahamas on Kennedy Agyapongs comments were okay.
Vice President John Mahama over the weekend condemned NPP MP Hon Kennedy Agyapong for making comments intended to incite Akans against Ewes.
Speaking on the reaction, Mr Paul Aborampah said there was nothing wrong with the comments by the Vice President
