Mr Kwasi Poku Bosompem, spokesperson for Mr Abraham Ossei-Aidooh, former Majority Leader, has reiterated that the latter has not changed his mind of contesting the Tema West Parliamentary seat as an independent candidate.
Reacting to a statement made by Mr Atitiati Laweh, Election
Officer of the Constituency that the former Majority Leader had
rescinded his decision to go independent, Mr Bosompem said the
Constituency Election Officer got it wrong when in an interview with a
section of the Media, he told them that Mr Ossei-Aiddoh was no more
contesting the constituency seat.
Mr Bosompem said as a researcher and an election officer, Mr
Lawehs analysis that the current Member of Parliament (MP) would get
more votes than Mr Ossei-Aidooh in the Tema West 2012 Parliamentary
election, was due to the selfish campaign team, with the sole
objective of projecting Naa Torshie-Addo as the prime focus.
He said the constituency executives had distanced themselves from
Mr Lawehs pronouncements, and therefore, warned party faithfuls not
to attach any importance to the statement of the self-acclaimed
research and election officer.
While advising Mr Laweh to concentrate on the job assigned him by
Naa Torshie-Addo, the incumbent MP, Mr Bosompem urged supporters of
the former Majority Leader, to stay focused, and work hard to bring
him back to Parliament in come 2012.
