The minority caucus in Parliament has responded to the mid-year budget review, stating that it will take Ghana five years to improve the economy.
On Monday, July 31, 2023, the Minister of Finance, Ken Ofori-Atta, presented the 2023 mid-year Fiscal Policy review to Parliament.
Among other things, Ken Ofori-Atta emphasized the progress made in the economy since seeking a bailout from the International Monetary Fund (IMF). He said the nation has “turned the corner” and was committed to continuing on that path.
However, the minority thinks otherwise.
According to a statement from the Minority leader, Dr. Cassiel Ato Baah Forson, the NPP government has severely damaged the financial stability of nearly all state-owned enterprises.
The NPP administration has "also successfully murdered the financial health of almost all our state-owned enterprises. What a corner you have turned, Mr. Minister!!! How could you claim to have turned a corner when GDP growth has been revised from 2.8% to 1.5%? How could you claim to have turned a corner when Inflation is currently 42.5% and rising and projected to be 31.3% by the end of the year? When monetary policy is 30% and rising? How could you claim to have turned a corner when you have not stopped the reckless borrowing?"

Yes, because of this it will be suicidal to give governance back to the NDC, We don't want to country to be back dated
why am i not surprised at this man's statement? was it not his presidential candidate who said free shs can only come to fruition after 20 years? we should never hand over power to these incompetent visionless bunch of corrupt politicians(ndc/jdm)
He just talking from his empty head
It would have been 50 yrs if the NDC were in powers during the COVID-19, Ukraine and Russia war! Common cholera killed over 200 people during your party (Mahama) era!
What is all this n0n sense? No suggestion. use11ess write up. NDC is not an alternative.
With the kind of politician we have ,we have a long way to go. You favor foreigners, they do not pay taxes because individual politician are take the money from them and the you kill indigenous companies . Large number of people in government so all the taxes are spent on them .You waste money through abandoning projects, conflict of interest, judgement debt, reconstruction of some projects because there are no plan , by -passing some amount of money from foreign loans which do not go through banks but kept in 'Ghana must go' to your homes, you take almost half of contract money therefore most jobs are not done right etc. Corruption WILL DESTOY US.
Auto Forson becareful, if the economy needs five years to recover then your Mahama cannot to anything with four years Y3b3diik3k3
If indeed Ghana needs fives years to turn the economy around then I have to vote to maintain the NPP government to continue. Among the kettles NDC is more blacker than the NPP.
