A 40-year-old farmer, said to have been driven by jealousy to inflict deep cutlass wounds on a man suspected to be having an affair with his wife, has been granted a GHc 50,000.00 bail with two sureties by the Nkawie Circuit Court.
Jacob Agyeman, is alleged to have attacked and slashed one Kwame Obeng, the alleged ‘rival’ with a sharp machete, opening deep wounds on the latter when he found him in the room of his second wife around 2200 hours.
This happened at Nweneso Number three, in the Atwima-Nwabiagya South Municipality in the Ashanti Region.
His plea was not taken and would make his next appearance before the Court presided over by Mr Michael Johnson Abbey, on July 17, this year.
Prosecuting, Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Sylvanus Dalmeida, told the Court that on June 14, this year at about 2200 hours, the accused left the second wife, now at large, to visit the first wife, who also lives in the town.
He said after spending 15 minutes with the first wife, the accused decided to return to the second wife and on his way spotted the victim entering the house of his second wife.
He then decided to hide somewhere and after realizing that the house was quiet and suspected the victim to be having sexual intercourse with his wife.
The prosecution said the accused seized by jealousy, entered the kitchen, took a cutlass and entered the room and attacked the victim in the room with the cutlass, inflicting deep wounds on him.
He said the victim who was bleeding profusely from the wounds, was rescued by some neighbours and was rushed to Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH) in Kumasi, where he was admitted.
ASP Damelda said the brother of the victim reported the incident to the Nkawie police, who arrested the accused and charged him for causing harm.

Why is the wife running away? she should stay. These days women and becoming much infidel than men . Don't trust any woman including your mother if you want to stay long.
The judge and the police if found in similar situations like the accused, what will they have done? Stand aloof and allow the "Greedy He-Goat Chop Off" his wife just like that. And how did the man know that the husband is not in the house, therefore he can come and take over. Hhhhmmmmm!!!! Interesting indeed.
The Bible meant it literally when it said: " Who can scoop fire in his hands and not get scourged? So is the man who goes into another man's wife!" He was sowing 'wild seeds' on another man's farm!
But the victim too what was he doing with a married woman in her room at 10pm
