At least six persons are feared dead after a boat they were travelling with capsized on the Volta Lake on Sunday.
The deceased were among over 60 persons travelling on the lake from Nankyeikura to Yeji.
According to survivors, the boat ran into a stump causing it to capsize and drowning some of the passengers.
So far six bodies, mainly, children have been retrieved.
Daniel Tachie, a journalist with Alive FM based in Yeji, told tv3network.com a team of rescuers arrived late afternoon at the scene to help the situation.
Some families are complaining that they cannot find relatives who were on board.
Daniel reports that persons still missing, from survivors’ accounts, include three pregnant women; but this has not been confirmed yet.
