Horse owners of the Accra Turf Club have appealed to President John Mahama to intervene to revive horse racing in the country.
They also raised concerns about the five years without horse racing, a situation, which they said had been killing the game slowly.
Mr Samuel Nii Armah Turkson, Secretary to the Board of Trustees of the Accra Turf Club, told the GNA that horses such as One Step Ahead, Araromi, One Love, How Are You Bishop, Practice What You Preach, By His Grace, Come on George and Boboo have all died because they were fed daily doing nothing.
He appealed again to the Ministry of Youth and Sports to give special attention to the development and promotion of horse racing in the country.
Mr Turkson expressed regret that horses that could have been on the tracks were being kept in their stables, while the owners are spending millions of cedis in feeding them.
