Mr Fuseini Iddrissu, General Secretary of the General Transport, Petroleum and Chemical Workers� Union (GTPCWU), has expressed concern about the spate of accidents and appealed to drivers to be cautious as Christmas approached.
He said they should aim at observing road traffic regulations during and after the Christmas and New Year festivities in order to improve on road safety and most importantly prevent loss of lives.
Mr Iddrissu said carnage on the roads continued to affect the nation�s human, financial and material resources and commended the National Road Safety Commission, the Police and other road transport regulatory agencies for their good work in educating drivers on road safety.
He expressed the hope that through collaborative effort by all social partners, members and stakeholders, the carnage would minimize.
