The materialization of the industrial age, coupled with the ability to use different forms energy has transformed living conditions for billions of people.
This realization according to Professor Benjamin Jabez Botwe Nyarko has enabled us to enjoy a level of ease and mobility in human history.
The Director- General of the Ghana Atomic Energy Commission (GAEC), made this remark in a welcome address at the Grand Durbar and Exhibition of the Africa Scientific Renaissance Celebration.
The theme for this year�s celebration was: �Ensuring Sustainable Energy for Accelerated Economic Growth�. He explained that the theme serves as a reminder to policy makers about the critical role sustainable energy played in the development of any nation.
Also speaking at the occasion was minister of Environment, Science, Technology and Innovation, Hon. Akwasi Opong- Fosu.
He explained that from post- independence, successive governments have pursed various policies and projects aimed at improving upon the energy situation in Ghana.
Hon. Opong- Fosu urged that the challenges facing the country require a collective effort to overcome the challenges in the short to medium term.
He pontificated that as part of policy measure, the current government has put in place a Sustainable Energy Policy. And the objective is to move the country towards the attainment of sustainable energy for all.
