The Congress of Youth Economic Empowerment Seekers (COYEES) is demanding the setting up of a Commission of enquiry to investigate the Menzgold scandal which has led to the loss of investments of customers of the company.
COYEES also demanded the immediate dismissal of the Executive Director of the Economic and Organized Crime Office (EOCO) Mr K. K Amoah for the poor handling of the arrest of the CEO of Menzgold, Nana Appiah Mensah as well as the dismissal of Mr Daniel Ogbamey Tetteh, the Director of the Securities and Exchange Commission for the decision to hastily collapse the Menzgold scheme without protecting the interest of customers of the company.
It also demanded the arrest of all other owners, Directors and collaborators of Menzgold to face prosecution.
COYEES made these calls at a press conference at Takoradi in the Western region.
Mr Emmanuel Wilson (Jnr) Convenor of COYEES addressed the media.
According to Mr Emmanuel Wilson (Jnr) the Menzgold scandal has happened as a result of collective institutional and systemic failure and the indolence of political leadership of the country who are supposed to protect the interest of the people.

I will take the State to court if a dime of the taxpayers money is spent on any so called commission of enquiry on Menzgold, to investigate what?. COYEES on its own should go ahead and do that if it wants to. It can go ahead and fire whoever it wants to. People always just want to be heard. So they are always lurking around sniffing, with the opportunity to bark.
What should be done to those of us who refused to listen to BoG and SEC and deposited our money with MenzGold? Guess we all deserve some punishment or...?
