Finance Minister, Seth Terkper has stated that the outgoing John Mahama administration is leaving behind a stabilized economy.
This, according to him, was as a result of the government’s fiscal consolidation programme, resulting in stabilization of the cedi, reduction of budget deficit from 12% to 6.3% in 2015 including reduction in inflation.
“Over the last four years we have been following a path of fiscal consolidation, which has led to an economy that has turned around, and the economic indicators points to a clear stabilized economy,” said Mr. Terkper at a press conference Tuesday.
According to Mr. Terkper, the foundation had been laid and that if the incoming government followed the path of fiscal prudence, the economy will see a 7% growth in 2017.
He assured that all things suggest that there would not be a reversal of the fiscal consolidation programme.

Stable indeed when you do not know how much you owe contractors. Incompetent at its best.
TWEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
If this is stabilized economy then we are all in trouble... High unemployment, high interest rate, low productivity, high electric charges, unstable exchange rate, very high taxes, super corruption name the rest..... Incompetent NDC leaders just disappear and we will not miss you guys. i wish to see this e.v.i.l party collapse.
I just don't understand why the NDC government wont accept that their governance weren't the best. Please give Ghanaians a break.
These people (outgoing government) act like that waakye seller who would not believe that the reason why people shun her food is because it is simply too bad. So, to attract clients, she dishes herself a bowl of the waakye and eats it with a decidedly happy face. But, to her frustration, potential clients see through her pranks and giver her a wider berth; and yet she would still not understand !
The people who make up this defeated government are just too funny. They throw out catefully crafted and rehearsed, although completely vacuous, statements and hope that Ghanaians are silly enough to affirm those refrains. Have you noticed, dear reader, that only they speak well of their government? And they do it with such unbelievable glib, too! I have yet to hear someone I respect as fairly objective speak positive of this wacky government that is just about to self-annihilate.
Who cares? Just go away!!
Not what you say. We will know YOUR EVIL acts when NPP fully takes office. WICKED MEN!
dumbass tekper. you sit in your country and allow the imf to come in and tell you what to do because you are a bunch of corrupt ***barred word***. you shall vomit all the money you chopped very soon.
