Member of Parliament of Ningo-Prampram, Samuel Nartey George, has criticised the current Chief Justice, Her Ladyship Gertrude Torkornoo, accusing her of engaging in ‘judicial thuggery’.
According to Sam George, the Chief Justice's decision to hear the case filed by the South Dayi Member of Parliament, Rockson-Nelson Dafeamekpor, is a deliberate attempt to delay the hearing of the suit filed earlier by Richard Dela Sky.
It is recalled that after the passage of the Human Rights and Ghanaian Family Values Bill, otherwise known as the Anti-Gay bill, media personality and private legal practitioner, Richard Dela Sky, challenged the bill at the Supreme Court.
Sam Nartey George wondered why the Chief justice will decide to hear the suit by Rockson Dafeamekpor restraining the Speaker to stop the vetting of the newly appointed ministers by the President Akufo Addo, which he believes, came way after Richard Dela sky’s supreme court filing.
Taking to his X platform, Sam George wrote, "There is absolutely no doubt in my mind that the current Chief justice is engaged in ‘judicial thuggery’ and poses an existential threat to the dispensation of justice in an equitable, fair, and just manner."
He added that, he suspects some political influences at the Supreme Court, an act he believes should not be entertained as it is appears detrimental to the democracy in Ghana.
"Such partisan behaviour at the apex our judiciary must not be entertained and must be condemned with all the force reasonable people can muster.
"Judicial gangesterism is a precursor for the breakdown in the dispensation of justices and the doctrine of the rule of law,'' he stated.
According to the one of the proponent of the bill, there is a need to offer proper discretion in the process of dispensing justice.
There is absolutely no doubt in my mind that the current Chief Justice is engaged in judicial thuggery and poses an existential threat to the dispensation of justice in an equitable, fair, and just manner.

@obi-ba, it's obvious to any well working mind that no party or government has beaten this cropt of NPP party frontliners and government at thuggery, sychofancy, mediocrity, steaIing, cheating poor citizens, corruption, and intolerance. What is the business of all the jubilee house babies with sharp teeth and sticky hands for grabbing indiscriminately? What work have Eugene Ahin, protozoa and co done in their life to become wealthy overnight? Do you know the number of containers and cars that those things from the jubilee house have stolen? Don't throw stones to your neighbours house when you are in a glass one, it's just a pity that Ghana has found herself juggling in the hands of these clueless and corrupt NPP and NDC
The boys with sharp teeth was an apt phrase to describe the insolence of the NDC thugs and sycophants who knew nothing but to insult their way to cheap political points. This is why the NDC is incapable of forming a competent administration when it comes to power. Obviously, a politician like Sam George would perform abysmally if offered a ministerial position because he is not exposed to policy formulation and implementation as a political party mandate for national development to which it is accountable. His job is to propagandize his way to power and kleptocracy will sustain him.
I don't encourage wrong choice of words or raising unnecessary suspicions about the judiciary, but in all honesty, our chief justice and some other justices are giving too many reasons for us to get really worried as a nation. Apart from discerning a direct interference of Nana Addo in their dealings, their demeanor and selectivity can be very threatening. For instance, why were they so interested and begining with this case first rather than the Richard Dela Sky's one considering that it was sent first and both attract considerable national interest. Secondly, did you guys see the disparaging and demeaning manner with which the chief justice stared at Pres Mahama when they met at the Church of Pentecost program where HE Dr. Bawumia was also present? I mean, why will she do that unawares? Al these raise eyebrows and make people suspicious and apprehensive
Choice of words
Choose of words matter a lot. Whenever this guy has the opportunity, his choice of words shows that he is immature. This immature attitude will put in big problem one day
This disrespect of the Supreme Court should be dealt with once and for all. No mercy for this baby with sharped teeth who for politics is not even fit to serve as a houseboy in the Chief Justice household.
What I want to hear from Sam George is that the judgement was not fair and was a travesty of justice. Sam George is not saying that but diverting attention from the merits of the case. A goat ***barred word*** in my village has gone to jail within 3 months of his arrest but Opuni and Ato Forson are walking in the streets and a liar Gyekye Quayson is still MP. Sam George supports them.
People like Sam George have no credibility to talk in Ghana. I am asking those hailing him to go and watch what he said about ABMKILTQ+++ in 2014 and what he is saying now! Shameful and Dis-honourable people!
The speed in which this is delt with. Can that same speed be used to deal with the supposed injunction on the LGBTQ bill that is in court. Sometimes, these actions by our judicial raises a lot more questions than answers. Time will tell.
Aahh Sam George paaaaa.. you think something good gona come from these judges? They collect goats and sheep to chop matters in Ghana. They are too corrupt beyond imagination.. ghana judiciary for you. first come, go last.
