I'll Be Extremely Embarrassed If I Were An NPP Member - Asiedu Nketia

The General Secretary of the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC), Johnson Asiedu Nketia, has punched the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) for their double standards, indicating that they preach virtue but practice vice. He said at one breath the NPP were calling for the fight against corruption but are not interested in contributing in the fight, noting that when the Economic and organized crime Officer (EOCO) commenced investigations on the payment of GH51 million judgment debt to businessman, Alfred Agbesi Woyome, the NPP said they would not heed to the EOCOs invite. How can we arrive at the bottom of the truth when you dont want to participate in the investigations? he quizzed. He noted that when it comes to integrity and justice, the difference between President John Evans Atta Mills and his predecessor, John Agyekum Kuffuor, is clear. To him, while Mr. Kufuor was selective in his justice delivery by arresting his perceived enemies who he claims caused financial loss to the country, President Mills is not indulging in any discrimination in prosecuting accused officials. The President, he opined, does not practice vendetta and that when it comes to the fight against corruption he will not discriminate, saying anybody who he thinks has a question to answer will be invited. Asiedu Nketia, who was speaking with The Enquirer newspaper shortly after President John Evans Atta Mills State of the Nation Address last Thursday, said he will be extremely embarrassed if he were to be an NPP member, because their leadership touts to the high heavens that they believe in the fight against corruption but are running away from justice delivery.
