CELEBRATING 20 YEARS OF PEACEFUL DEMOCRACY IN GHANA (1992-2012) � Pure Creations limited a strategic marketing communications agency is putting together an art and photo exhibition dubbed �Portrait Of The Johns� to celebrate two decades of peaceful democracy in Ghana (1992-2012) to honour and celebrate the lives, works and achievements of the three presidents Jerry John Rawlings, John Agyekum Kuffuor and John Evans Atta Mills for their contributions to the growth and sustenance of Ghana�s democracy. The aim of the events is to educate the populace on political tolerance, peaceful elections and electoral violence. This will also be used to recognize institutions, politicians and other distinguished statesmen/women, and corporate Ghana for contributing their quota towards achieving a peaceful and democratic nation. The arts include autographed portraits of high-profile citizens of selected past and present presidents, ministers, state institutions, and honourable citizens. There will also be awards for ministers and citizens who have excelled both in government and outside government within the twenty years of democracy The awardees would be chosen by the public through polls in the dailies and on the internet. The main objective of the event is to celebrate the 20 years of peaceful democracy in Ghana, honour and highlight the achievements of the various heads of state that have served during the period, honour other individuals and institutions that contributed to building peaceful and stronger democracy. Bringing President Kufuor, President Rawlings and President Mills at a single event to promote peace and unity as we prepare for both parliamentary and presidential elections as a gesture of peace which we believe will foster a sense of unity in Ghanaians. As election 2012 approaches, the event will serve as a perfect platform to educate the populace on political tolerance, the implications of the use of intemperate language, electoral fraud, electoral violence, voting procedures and avenues for addressing electoral disputes. This event will also present golden opportunities for companies to associate their brand names and logos to this entire important project. The exhibition will be categorized on sector basis. The climax of the event will be the grand exhibition and peace concert at the Accra international conference center from June 14-20, 2012 where the following personalities and individuals will be honoured for their contributions towards 20 years of peaceful democracy: Mr. Ekow Nkensen Arkaah, Alhaji Aliu Mahama, John Dramani Mahama, Speakers Of Parliament, Justice D.F Annan, Peter Ala Adjetey, Begyina Sekyi-Hughes, Mrs Bamford Addo, Georgina Wood etc. All Individuals who have stood for Presidential Elections over the Past Twenty Years: Dr. Paa Kwesi Nduom, Edward Mahama, Nana Addo Danquah Akufo-Addo, Prof George Hagan, George Opesika Aguddey, Maj. General Erskine, Professor Albert Adu Boahen etc, Again, we will award the best ministers since the implementation of democracy. The regional exhibition will be held in Tamale on May 11-13, Kumasi on May 18-20, Takoradi May 25-27. We intend to present the Ghana flag dubbed the Peace Flag to all the various presidential and parliamentary candidates to append their signatures to it, to symbolize their pledge to their commitment to peaceful, free and fair elections. The flag would be sent to religious bodies; the Electoral Commission, the Security agencies and all those who matter in Ghanaian politics.
