NDC Members Demonstrate Against Kufuor And NPP Ex-Ministers

A group known as the Concerned NDC Members on Tuesday demonstrated in Accra against past New Patriotic Party (NPP) government officials over their refusal to cooperate with the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO). The demonstration started at the Obra Spot at the Nkrumah Circle through the Adabraka Police Station towards Accra Central and ended at the OSU Castle. The group earlier appealed to the government to compel ex-ministers of the NPP administration to appear before the EOCO to account for their roles in the payment of the judgment debt to Mr. Alfred Agbesi Woyome. Speaking to Citi News, Robert Kpeteme, Secretary to the Concerned NDC Members said the demonstration was meant to compel former President J. A Kufuor, Mr. Yaw Osafo Maafo and Jake Obetsebi-Lamptey to cooperate with the EOCO. We want the President to invite the 2005/2006 cabinet members those who were involved in the transaction of the Woyome saga to go to the EOCO and testify, he said. We want the truth to come out and if they know they have nothing to hide they should go and testify so that at least whatever questions EOCO has for them at the end of the day the truth will come; there are issues like people getting food on their tables and sanitation that need to be addressed than the everyday Woyome saga.
