Suspension Galore In CPP

The Central Committee of the Convention Peoples Party (CPP) has suspended indefinitely some of its national and regional executives for acts of indiscipline. The sudden resignation of the 2008 flagbearer of the CPP, Dr. Paa Kwesi Nduom, and the subsequent formation of his new party Progressive Peoples Party have shaken the foundations of the party with more executives threatening to break ranks. Among those on suspension are the National Youth Organiser, Mutala Mohammed and the Womens Organiser, Mary Ankomah. The party leadership assured that they will be investigated accordingly. The Communications Director of the CPP, Nii Amarh Akomfrah, who confirmed the news to Citi News said the party leadership will not tolerate persons who are unwilling to respect the constitution of the party. According to Nii Akomfrah, the youth organiser has been suspended for his indiscipline. This is all aimed at restoring discipline. If someone has an issue concerning the party it is not at a radio station that these concerns are resolved. But suspended Mohammed, who has challenged the decision by the Central Committee told Citi News the chairperson of the party is gradually destroying the CPP with her leadership style.
