NDC Primaries: Victor Smith Through...

Results from some other regions in the just ended NDC parliamentary primaries in orphan constituency have it that a Deputy Information Minister Baba Jamal won massively in Akwatia indicating that he would be contesting on the ticket of the NDC in the 2012 polls for the second time. He polled 336 votes against Nana Kwaku Efisah who got 15 votes. Still in the Eastern Region, the Executive Director of the Ghana Tourism Authority Julius Debrah won the bid to contest the Suhum seat. Ghana�s ambassador to the Czech Republic Victor Smith also got the nod by popular acclamation as the party�s Abuakwa North candidate. He was unopposed. In the Western region, Chief Executive of the Ghana Investment Promotions Centre George Aboagye beat competition from a former Minister of State Sam Pee Yalley to win the Ahanta West constituency seat. The Volta region which has been acclaimed as the world bank of the ruling National Democratic Congress has one seat [Nkwanta North] which is currently being held by the NPP.The Nkwanta North seat would be keenly contested come 2012. John Oti Bless would be contesting on the ticket of the NDC. He emerged the representative for the NDC after the DCE for the area who also wanted to contest withdrew in the final minutes before voting began. Elsewhere, National Coordinator for the Commputerised School Selection and Placement System Samuel Oppong lost to a legal advisor at Data Bank, Obeng Inkoom for the Agona West constituency. In Essikuma Odoben Brakwa Constituency in the Central Region, incumbent DCE Georgina Nkrumah Boah won over Emmanuel Tawiah Aboagye.
