Ghana Will Be Like Rwanda If NDC Rigs 2012 Polls - NPP

The New Patriotic Party (NPP) MP for Assin North, Kennedy Agyepong, has issued a stern warning to the National Democratic Congress saying if the ruling party does not abandon plans to rig the 2012 elections, Ghana would be like Rwanda where an estimated 800,000 died in genocide. Hon. Agyepongs comments come in the wake of threats by Communications Director at the Presidency, Koku Anyidoho that the NDC would deal with the flagbearer of the NPP, Nana Akufo-Addo if he dares incite people ahead of the 2012 elections. Mr. Anyidoho told London-based Focus radio on Tuesday that the NPP leader, their chairman Jake Obetsebi-Lamptey and former chairman Mac Manu may fall first if they persisted with their all-die-be-die mantra. Speaking to Citi News, the Assin North MP stated that Ghana would be like the eastern African country if the NDC fails to give Ghanaians a free, fair and transparent election in 2012. If we dont have peaceful elections in this country and Koku Anyidoho thinks he can use the military, the macho men to intimidate and rig elections, Ghana would not be like Kenya, Ghana would be like Rwanda, he warned. When you look at Nana Addos age and this guy [Koku Anyidoho], Nana Addo can be this boys father but because of cheap politics we do in this country, he gets up and starts insulting this man [Nana Addo] with no just reason. We want peace, nobody wants to fight in this countrybut an eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooththis time we would not sit down for NDC to intimidate anybody, if they hit one we would hit three, the NPP firebrand charged.
