Africa Needs Transformational Leaders Kufuor

A former President of Ghana, John Agyekum Kufuor, has attributed Africas poverty to the absence of leaders who can transform the continents natural resources to better the lives of Africans. According to the former president, despite the continents abundance in natural resources it remains the poorest continent in the world. Mr. Kufuor, who was speaking at the third young professionals transformational leadership conference at the International Conference Centre on Wednesday, charged African leaders to take advantage of the many assets that abounds in the continent. Good leaders bring about monumental changes in their societies, mediocre leaders bring about mediocre results," Kufuor declared. "Africa needs leaders that are resolved to improve the quality of life of the people of Africa no matter the seeming insurmountable challenges in their path." It is unpardonable that in the 21st century Africa with its vast mineral and natural resources is still counted among the poorest and the least developed in the world. We sit on natural wealth but we are poor, we are poor because we lack the leadership that is resourceful to husband the natural wealth to engender the world to benefit the people of Africa. A patron of the Young Professional Youth Coalition and former corporate executive of MTN Mawuena Trebarh told Citi News that Ghana and the rest of Africa needs transformational leaders so the country can be developed in all areas.
