Parliamentary Primaries - Carl Wilson Kicked Out

Reports gathered from the corridor of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) by The Publisher newspaper after the vetting of parliamentary aspirants in the Greater Accra region has revealed that the hopes of top leading party capos decision of being legislators in the next parliament have been dashed. According to information, the leadership of the NDC has disqualified gun-wielding former chairman of the Governments� confiscated vehicles and Allocation Committee, Mr. Carl Wilson alongside others. Mr. Carl Wilson, who went into somehow political hibernation after he was booted out of office after youth of the NDC besieged the headquarters, has resurfaced with intention to lead the people of Weija constituency. But his dream is now shattered because his application has not been accepted by the rank and file of the NDC. Surprisingly, Mr. Kweku Eshun, who contested the Okaikoi North constituency in the last elections, risked the chance of representing the party in the 2012 general elections. According to our credible sources, preliminary investigations of the vetting committee hinted that he has been disqualified and it has been recommended to the leadership of the NDC to finalize it. Mr. Eshun, who contested battled Mr. Asiedu Nketiah, for the position of the General Secretary of the party and a staunch loyalist of Mr. Rawlingses, would not see his face on the ballot papers. Mr. Andrews Okaikoi, the board chairman of Disability Council is also likely to face disqualifications. The husband of the former Minister of Information, Zita Sarbah Okaikoi, is among a number of party gurus seeking to lead the constituency. His wife Zita is struggling to get the second nod for the Dome-Kwabenya Constituency to battle it out with NPP Lawyer Adwoa Sarfo, the daughter of Apostle Kwadwo Safo fame. At the same Dome-Kwabenya constituency, two parliamentary hopefuls are also due for possible disqualification. Sophia Akuaku, is facing possible disqualification due to her alleged relationship with the New Patriotic Party (NPP). Mr. Isaac Affum, is also being disqualified because of reports of his dent credibility.
