NPP Might Be Training Commandos Under The Guise Of Prayer Camps Gen Mosquito

General Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Johnson Asiedu Nketia, has scoffed at the announcement by the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) to set up prayer camps in all constituencies in the various regions, saying Ghanaians should take the news with a pinch of salt. He opines that the NPP could be establishing training grounds for commandos under the guise of holding prayer meetings, especially if it is held in the forest. General Secretary of the NPP, Lawyer Kwadwo Owusu Afriyie, at a press conference on Thursday, disclosed that knowing how crucial divine intervention can be if a Party is to be successful in an election, has asked all constituencies in the various regions to set up prayer camps. The NPP Chief Scribe stressed the importance of seeking the face of God at all times and acknowledged that without Gods intervention their flagbearer cannot win the 2012 election. We need to pray towards the 2012 election we believe if we put our trust in God and in Allah, God will help us to win the election. We cannot trust or depend on our own strength Sir John said. But speaking in an interview on Citi FM, General Mosquito as the NDC General Secretary is affectionately called, seemed not swayed by the NPPs newfound love for prayer camps. He, however, asked for Gods guidance for them if only their intentions are noble. if they are clear in their intentions then God should guide them. I am saying this because they have presented themselves as people who were mocking the President for indulging in prayers; then all of a sudden they announce as a policy that they are establishing prayer campsyou can only pray that those prayer camps will be established in the towns and not in the bush. If they are established in the bush, we cannot guarantee what they will be doing there. However, it is up to them whether Ghanaians will believe them or not, he said. Reacting to the NPPs claim that they never flayed President Mills for turning the Osu Castle into a prayer camp, he said: there are many instances that the NPP has come out claiming that the NDC administration is run by pastors who controls the President and if after all these insinuations they have seen that the way to go is to pray to the Almighty, I think that God will forgive them and let them progress. However, the way they have conducted themselves, if today they are telling me that they are establishing prayer camps, we need to take it with a pinch of salt, he added. The NDC, prior to the 2008 General Elections, established a prayer camp at the Osu Kuku Hill campaign office of Professor John Evans Atta Mills, where some prayer warriors converged to pray for the party's victory. The pastors and prayer warriors who met every Friday, not only prayed for NDC victory in 2008, they spend a lot of time praying against some government policies in a bid to reclaim power. It worked for the NDC though, and maybe the NPP believes it might work for them too in 2012.
