A leading member of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC), Mr. Ato Ahwoi collapsed at the Sunyani Coronation park, venue for this weekend�s National Delegates Conference on Friday July 8,2011.
An eye-witness who spoke to XFM reported that Mr. Ahwoi allegedly collapsed on the field in the midst of final preparations for Saturday�s much anticipated face-off between incumbent President Mills and former First Lady Nana Konadu Agyemang Rawlings.
XFM cannot say clearly if his sudden collapse is as a result of nervousness with regards to a possible defeat on his close ally, the president or on health reasons but he was helped immediately to a seat by people standing next to him including Mr. Totobi Kwakye, also a prominent member of the NDC who was seen talking to him afterwards.
In a related development, peacefmonline.com can authoritatively confirm that Mr. Ato Ahwoi is hale and hearty.
Speaking to PeaceFM and OkayFM a couple of minutes ago, the indefatigable Ahwoi who looked refreshed but could only manage a few words as he extremely busy with putting things right at the congress grounds, prayed for a united NDC after congress. He also rubbished off the report of his alleged collapse.
