Ashanti NDC Women Rally To The Defence Of Mrs Mould-Iddrisu

The Ashanti Regional Womens Wing of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC), has taken umbrage at what it says are unjustified attacks on Mrs Betty Mould-Iddrisu, the Education Minister, by Dr Josiah Ayeh, a former General Secretary of the party. It said it found it difficult to rationalize why Dr Ayeh should seek to question the party credentials of the Minister. Ms Ama Sarpomaah, the Regional Women Organizer, insisted, Betty was with us together in the trenches. Her loyalty and commitment has never been in doubt. She claimed that Dr Ayeh was not a member of the NDC and asked that he stopped meddling in the partys internal affairs. As far as we know, he was sacked from the NDC over monies he took from our political opponents, the New Patriotic Party (NPP), and we are not aware that he has been re-admitted. Ms Sarpomaa, accompanied by some members of the womens wing, called at the Kumasi Office of the Ghana News Agency (GNA) to express their discomfort with the former General Secretary, now with Nana Konadu Agyeman-Rawlings campaign team on Thursday. The women accused him of dishonest and insincere attempt to put Nana Konadu and the Minister on a collision course. They said it was not true that Mrs Mould-Iddrisu had made uncomplimentary and unsavory remarks about the former First Lady. The two are from the same area and had related very well, they said. Dr Ayeh is reported to have made scathing attacks on Mrs Mould-Iddrisu for her alleged labeling of Nana Konadu as greedy, something she had profusely denied.
