JJ Storms Sunyani

FORMER PRESIDENT Jeremiah John Rawlings is expected to storm Sunyani in the Brong Ahafo Region today, ahead of tomorrows congress scheduled to take place at the Sunyani Coronation Park. Mr. Rawlings, founder of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC), whose party is at the cross road of electing its 2012 presidential candidate between his wife, Nana Konadu Agyeman-Rawlings and incumbent President John Evans Atta Mills, has been in Northern Ghana for the past few days in a mop-up exercise to ensure a landslide victory for his wife. The NDC founder has categorically stated that a win for President Mills in this congress is a loss for the NDC in the 2012 general elections because Ghanaians are fed up with the abysmal performance and lack of leadership direction of the Mills-Mahama administration. Jerry John Rawlings will early this morning join Nana Konadu Agyeman-Rawlings, who has been a thorn in the flesh of the Mills camp, in Kumasi to mourn her late brother who just passed away. The former first couple will then move straight to Sunyani later in the day after the funeral. Nana Konadus elder brother, O.T. Agyeman, died in Kumasi last week. Sources close to DAILY GUIDE hinted that Mr. Rawlings, upon his arrival in Sunyani, will move straight to his hotel which was privately arranged for him. He will later hold a closed-door meeting with some delegates and other members of the Konadu campaign team.
