Betty Mould Is Reaping Where She Has Not Sown Josiah Aryeh

A Former General Secretary of the National Democratic Congress, Dr. Josiah Aryeh, has sought to suggest that Education Minister Mrs. Betty Mould Iddrisu is not a true member of the NDC, and that she like many others, are reaping where they have not sown. To this end, he believes that such persons have no right to denigrate those who have toiled for the party. Dr. Aryeh, a member of the campaign team for Nana Konadu Agyemang Rawlings, the former First Lady, thinks that several persons occupying various positions in the current NDC administration under President Mills are not dyed-in-the-wool members of the party. According to him, such persons virtually made no contribution to the NDC when it was in opposition, but quickly sneaked their way into it, when it won power and yet were rewarded at the expense of those who fought tooth and nail to bring the party into power. Dr. Aryeh, who was speaking at a news conference held by the Former First Lady ahead of the NDCs presidential primaries in Sunyani, hailed praises on Mrs. Konadu Agyemang Rawlings, as one of the few women who contributed immensely to the NDCs success but has been ignored. The Former NDC General Secretary specifically stated that Mrs. Betty Mould Iddrisu, who was once Minister for Justice and now Education Minister, is not a devoted member of the NDC. Mrs. Betty Mould Iddrisu was for several years a part-time lecturer in the Faculty of Law in which I was teaching but was also a General Secretary. But I can tell you that she never even said good morning to me if indeed she was an NDC member. The first time I got to know that she was involved in the NDC was when I got to know that she wanted to be Vice President. Of course we all know that her husband is a member of the NDC. But it doesnt follow that because I am NDC, my spouse or my brother is also NDC. People worked and suffered for this party. People were bruised and put to shame. And as those people worked, others thought that they could go and seek greener pastures and when the deal was done and victory came, they returned and of course they got what they got. I think that the decent thing, is not for those people to be heard denigrating those who worked very hard. To borrow Ghandis phrase, if anybody ever was prophet to the poor in this country that was Mrs. Nana Konadu Agyemang Rawlings. She worked her heart out, he said.
