The Okyeman Environmental Protection Brigade hinted that the plot was intercepted in a voice recording on a certain Whatsapp platform.

Addressing the Media at Kyebi over the weekend, Okyeman Akwansrahene Baffour Asiedu Bekoe said, the land guards parading as police informants are members of syndicate terrorizing farmers and land owners at Okanta and its enclaves.

He said, the Environmental Protection Brigade received reports of land guards terrorizing residents of Okanta and went in to effect their arrest and handed them to the Police at Kyebi.

According to Baffour Asiedu Bekoe, the suspects were released after 48 hours by the police.

He added that, the land guards went on to hatch a plan to attack members of the Okyeman Environmental Protection Brigade.

The Okyeman Akwansrahene said, the land guards circulated pictures of leaders of the Brigade on a Whatsapp platform inciting their members to go after them.

Baffour Asiedu Bekoe says the plot to attack them has been reported to the police pending investigation.

This development coincides with the killing of a 28-year-old Ofei Noah some two months ago who was a member of the Brigade.

Noah was killed while three members of the brigade suffered multiple gunshot wounds while returning from their usual patrol around Adeiso. They were ambushed in a nearby village.

Ofei Noah was buried over the weekend.

Meanwhile, Baffour Asiedu Bekoe indicates that, the Environmental Protection Brigade will not be deterred by these threats and shun their responsibility of protecting the property of Okyeman.

He mentioned that, all the lands spanning from Adoagyiri to Jejeti, Dome Faase, Asamankese, Adeiso and it's enclave remains the property of the Over Lord of Akyem Abuakwa State, Osagyefuo Amoatia Ofori Panin who is the allodial title holder.

Consequences all alienation of lands without the consent and concurrence of the Okyenhene is void.

He advised all parties who have acquired lands from third parties to come to Okyeman Stool land Secretariat at Kyebi to rectify their documents or find themselves to be blamed.

Baffour Asiedu Bekoe called on the security agencies to help them stop the land guards menace in the area.

He says the Okyeman Environmental Protection Brigade was established to protect Okyeman's property and they will stop at nothing in doing so.
