The Chinese Speakers’ Association of Ghana (CSAG), a wide network of All African professionals in Ghana who speak Chinese as a second official language with a dedication to bridging the language gap between Chinese-speaking individuals, companies, investors, and local authorities in Ghana has written to the Forestry Commission, making their expertise available to the commission.

In a letter dated, June 10, 2024, the CSAG, stated that their vision is to leverage the power of language in unity to change and transform lives in Africa.

The reason behind the letter addressed to the Forestry Commission stems from a recent publication which revealed that the Forestry Commission faces challenges in handling cases involving Chinese illegal miners due to the lack of translators and interpreters.

According to the group, the language barrier leads to a release of offenders, which hampers the enforcement of the environmental laws and regulations.

“To address this issue, we are pleased to officially inform you that CSAG is readily available to provide professional translation and interpretation services to you reputable outfit. Our association consists of qualified translators and interpreters who are proficient in both Mandarin and English, ensuring, effective communication between your officers and Chinese-speaking individual,” the group said in a statement.

“We believe that our collaboration will enhance the effectiveness of your operations and contribute significantly to the preservation of Ghana’s natural resources,” it stated.
