A  Dansoman court has granted the leading member of the Movement for Change, Hopeson Adorye, GHC20,000 bail with two sureties on Thursday (23 May).

Hopeson Adorye was charged with the publication of false news.

He was arrested on Wednesday, (22 May) over his claim that he detonated dynamites in the Volta Region during the 2016 general elections.

Adorye revealed details of an alleged operation he led to deter Togolese nationals from participating in Ghana’s 2016 general elections.

In an interview on Onua TV Thursday (16 May 2024), Adorye disclosed that the alleged operation took place at the Togo border.

This assertion raised significant concerns and led to his arrest.
