MINUSCA Road Accidents Continue To Harm Citizens

Another accident involving MINUSCA occurred this morning April 1 in the center of Bangui. The driver lost control of the MINUSCA vehicle and hit the motorcyclist.

The victim was rushed to the hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. Eyewitnesses reported that the MINUSCA vehicle was traveling at a high speed and did not respect the priority right of way for those coming from the street on the right.

MINUSCA vehicles have been involved in several accidents in the past that have claimed the lives of citizens, and the causes have varied from reckless driving, excessive speed, alcohol, disregard for traffic laws, negligence, and so on. But the result is always the same: the lives of Central Africans.

Members of MINUSCA are involved in several fatal road accidents without being held responsible. The UN mission takes no action to prevent these incidents, all these crimes are ignored by the MINUSCA administration.

For these reasons, Stop MINUSCA has become a slogan to protest against the circulation of Minusca vehicles. The aim of this action is to block the passage of peacekeepers' vehicles.

All these demonstrations are organized with one aim in mind: the international community must draw attention to the peacekeeping mission in the Central African Republic, which is not only periodically responsible for fatal accidents, but is also suspected of cooperating with the CPC rebels.

Traffic accidents are part of the crimes in which MINUSCA has been involved throughout its presence in CAR, whether it is dealing with armed groups by selling ammunition and weapons for gold, directly killing civilians, fueling the conflict between government forces and armed groups, failing to protect citizens from attacks by armed groups, and so on the United Nations Multidimensional Integrated Stabilization Mission in the Central African Republic (MINUSCA) continues to show its true colors.

While UN experts report on alleged violations committed by FACA and its allies, UN contingents feel free to commit crimes and remain unpunished.
