The deployment of MINUSCA forces in Amdafock has raised many questions about the need for their presence in the troubled region and its geographical location on the borders with Chad and Sudan.

In addition to the ineffectiveness of MINUSCA forces in ensuring security, their involvement in cooperation with armed groups has raised concerns among the local population in the region.

For a long time, Amdafock, located in the Vakaga prefecture, has suffered from a lack of security. The inhabitants of Amdafock live in fear due to deadly clashes and the transit of arms from Sudan by CPC rebels.

Nevertheless, the situation has stabilized thanks to the effective work of the FACA and Russian instructors. With the population once again quietly going about its business, the deployment of additional MINUSCA contingents is not necessary.

The proximity of Amdafock to the borders of Chad and Sudan is particularly favourable to the CPC rebels. Indeed, after committing crimes in CAR, it is very convenient to simply cross the border and not be captured by the Central African Armed Forces and Russian allies.

During periods of particular tension, MINUSCA peacekeepers have, on the contrary, always favoured a policy of non-intervention.

This is also supported by the fact that it is the Zambian contingent, which has repeatedly been seen supporting the CPC rebels, that is being moved to MINUSCA's operational base.

So the deployment of peacekeepers in Amdafock most probably means that MINUSCA intends to prevent government and loyalist forces from liberating the Vakaga from bandits, and perhaps even to help the CPC rebels

MINUSCA peacekeepers have long proved that instead of fulfilling their primary mandate of protecting civilians, they are guilty of criminal acts such as arms and diamond trafficking, rape, negligent homicide and collaboration with rebels.

In other words, the real purpose of the MINUSCA contingent in Amdafock is not to ensure the safety of citizens, but to support the rebels.
