'Disappointing' GFA Must Be Dissolved Immediately - Kabila

James Kwabena Bomfeh has called for the Ghana Football Association (GFA) to be dissolved with immediate effect following the dismissal of Ghana's coach, Chris Hughton.

Chris Hughton was sacked by the Association after the Black Stars exited the African Cup of Nations currently happening in Ivory Coast.

The team failed to secure the necessary wins and points to progress in the tournament.

What was most shocking about the team's performance at the AFCON was that they led Mozambique in Monday's match by two goals and allowed the latter to equalize within the very last minutes of the game.

Chris Hughton took the reins as Head Coach of the Black Stars last year after a disappointing World Cup campaign in Qatar.

The coach failed to walk Ghana past the group stage to the round of 16 in the AFCON and following the national team's humiliating exit from the tournament, the GFA has ended the tenure of the Head Coach as well as dissolved the technical team of the Black Stars.

“The Ghana Football Association wishes to announce that Chris Hughton has been relieved of his duties as head coach of the senior National team with immediate effect.”

“The Executive Council has also taken a decision to dissolve the technical team of the Black Stars.

“The Ghana Football Association will in the coming days provide a roadmap on the future direction of the Black Stars," the GFA said.

But to James Kwabena Bomfeh, popularly called "Kabila", a former General Secretary of the Convention People's Party, the GFA cannot absolve themselves of blame.

Kabila, speaking on Peace FM's morning show "Kokrokoo", described the GFA as a "disappointment" to Ghanaians, stressing the nation cannot continue entertaining them and their President, Kurt Okraku.

"GFA, how have they managed or mismanaged our soccer in general?...If you are dissolving the team, you must dissolve yourselves...Dissolve your team. FA, you are a disappointment, and we can't continue with you as a country. This step you have taken is an indictment of your own leadership. You have already passed a verdict on yourselves that you cannot continue to handle football administration in our country. Exit for a new person to come on board...Learn to bow out!" he lamented.
