Teacher Mante Gets New Mankrado

Residents of Teacher Mante had a double dose of their festive season as a new Chief (Mankrado) was installed on the day of Christmas, December 25, 2023.

In a traditionally observed ceremony, the people of Teacher Mante, a farming community in the Ayensuano Constituency in the Eastern Region of Ghana, installed a new Mankrado in the name of Nana Opoku-Frefre Ayisi Offei IV.

The new chief, a fashion designer and education enthusiast, becomes the second in command to the Chief of Teacher Mante. He was tasked to assisting the Chief and people with developmental projects and draw good name to the seat he is occupying.

In an interview, Nana Opoku-Frefre Ayisi IV expressed gratitude to his subjects and family for the support given during his installation. He stressed that his installation is one that has been well accepted by the people and chiefs of the Teacher Mante Traditional Area and its environs.

According to him, there is currently a rise in teenage pregnancy in their jurisdiction, and he believes a lack of intensive education among young girls is the cause of that.

He pledged to drive in investors to the community in order to equip the youth with entrepreneurial skills and reduce the unemployment rate among the young people of Teacher Mante.

Nana Opoku-Frefre Ayisi IV further mentioned that he will collaborate with all stakeholders within the government machinery in the constituency to rake in aid for the farmers in Teacher Mante so they can incorporate modern and safe farming methods to increase their yields.

He wished his people an incident-free season and called on them to support him more in ways of advice and counselling so he can diligently perform his duties as Traditional Ruler to them.
