Kwamena Duncan Lauds ECG's Motorbike Donation to Police Service

Former Central Regional Minister, Kwamena Duncan has given the management of the Electricity Company of Ghana a pat on the back for donating motorcycles to the Ghana Police Service.

The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) on Monday, December 11, donated 200 motorbikes to assist the Police.

The donation which took place at the Police headquarters was attended by members of the Police Management Board and some staff of the ECG, but the company has however come under criticisms with some critics describing this act as unnecessary considering that the ECG is saddled with financial difficulties.

Addressing the matter on "Kokrokoo" panel discussion show on Peace FM, Kwamena Duncan was impressed with the ECG gesture, stressing it is needful in enhancing national security.

He argued that the ECG, in their operations to ensuring electricity users pay their debts, utilizes the Police to enforce law and order; so purchasing motorcycles to aid their work is justifiably right.

"If the society is secured, we have our peace of mind. You can walk even on the street even in the night because the Police are protecting you. It makes productive, makes all of that go up and the use of electricity," he asserted.
