2024 Election: You Have a Herculean Task Ahead - Atik Tells NPP

Atik Mohammed has asked the New Patriotic Party to reposition itself if the party wants to win the 2024 general elections.

The New Patriotic Party ended its presidential election on Saturday, November 4, with Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia declared winner.

The Vice President became the NPP flagbearer by securing 118,210 representing an impressive 61.47%.

His closest rival, Ken Ohene Agyapong, secured 71,996 votes representing 37.41% and Dr. Afriyie Akoto and Francis Addai-Nimoh garnered 1459 and 781 votes respectively.

Over 200,000 delegates participated in the election which was dubbed a ‘showdown’.

Although the NPP had a successful election, the several allegations that were thrown against Dr. Bawumia, to some people, have dented the image of the party.

For the party to become a formidable force in next year's election, there is the need for all hands to be on deck and in respect of this, Atik is admonishing them to engage in a serious rebranding and repositioning to disabuse their supporters and Ghanaians of their mistrust in the party.

"Now, the task ahead is herculean. It is not easy and I have said, to convert this tragedy into a success story for Ghanaians to vote for you is not easy. It requires careful planning. It requires rebranding, repositioning and a lot more other things," he said on Peace FM's morning show "Kokrokoo".
