'Bawumia Is Our Pilot Now...I See Kufour, Atta Mills And Nana Addo In Him' - EPA Boss

The Chief Executive Office of the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), Henry Kwabena Kokofu has congratulated Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia over his massive victory in the just-ended New Patriotic Party's presidential election over the weekend.

On Saturday, November 4, over 200000 delegates of the New Patriotic Party cast their votes to elect their flagbearer and at the end of the contest, the Electoral Commission declared Dr. Bawumia as the winner after he secured 118,210 out of the total of 193,346 votes cast representing an impressive 61.47%.

His closest rival, Ken Ohene Agyapong polled 71,996 votes representing 37.41% and Dr. Afriyie Akoto and Francis Addai-Nimoh garnered 1459 and 781 votes respectively.

Speaking on Peace FM's morning show "Kokrokoo", Henry Kokofu believed in the competence of Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia to lead the New Patriotic Party to victory in next year's elections.

To him, the Vice President is a "three-in-one man" to wit he possesses the qualities of some great leaders who, in his view, have set a unique standard of leadership in the history of Ghana.

"I see the gentle giant, J.A Kufour, in him. I see the late President of the Republic, Professor Atta Mills, in him; the peaceful king. Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia abstains himself from anything that will disrupt peace or cause disturbances, so I can see Professor Mills, the late President and king of peace, in Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia. And then finally, I can clearly see Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, the President of the Republic, the king of patience" in him, he told host Kwami Sefa Kayi.

Kokofu concluded that, with Dr. Bawumia leading the New Patriotic Party, the party's flight to success is already set in motion.

"We have a pilot now in the person of Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia", he emphasized.
