The Ashanti Regional Chairman of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), Bernard Antwi Boasiako aka. ‘Chairman Wontumi’ has ordered the removal of all banners, flyers and paraphernalia belonging to John Alan Kyerematen from his region.
 
The directive he said must be “respected and obeyed” by all constituencies in his jurisdiction with immediate effect.
 
“Once he has forfeited his membership, it is just right and fair that these items are removed from our offices,” Chairman Wontumi said in a statement.

“In view of Hon. Alan Kyerematen’s resignation from the party, all his posters, banners, flyers and paraphernalia at our party offices in all the constituencies must be removed with immediate effect,” he stated in a memo dated Monday, September 25, 2023.

Ashanti Region is the stronghold of the party and where Mr Kyerematen hails from.
 
Alan Kyerematen, former Minister of Trade and Industry, resigned from the NPP on Monday, September 25, 2023 and announced his intention to run as an independent candidate in the 2024 presidential elections.
