EC Limited Registration: 'We Should Embrace Change' - Salam Mustapha Tells NDC On Use of Ghana Card

Salam Mustapha, the National Youth Organizer of the New Patriotic Party, has commended the Electoral Commission on its decision to use Ghana Card for the registration of eligible Ghanaians onto the voters' register.

The Electoral Commission, according to a statement, says “persons who have attained the age of 18 years since the last registration exercise and those who for one reason or the other did not register in 2020, should visit the District Office where they reside with either their Ghana Card or their Ghana Passport” in order to participate in its ongoing limited registration exercise.

Although the exercise has begun, the opposition National Democratic Congress has filed a suit challenging the process; they argue the Ghana Card will deprive people of their right to vote.

But Salam Mustapha believes this is a good initiative to ensure the register is clean and no minors are registered.

"I think that we should embrace change," he admonished the opposition parties while speaking on Peace FM's "Kokrokoo" show.
