NPP Super Delegates Conference: Who Will Emerge Winner...As Voting Commences

The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has commenced its Super Delegates Conference which is being held in all the 16 regional capitals across the country as well as the NPP headquarters at Asylum Down in Accra.

The final collation will take place at the EC headquarters in Accra.

In all, 958 delegates, which includes: the National Council, National Executive Committee (NEC), regional executive committees, members of the National Council of Elders, Members of Parliament, three representatives of each of the special organs of the party, past national officers, three representatives each from every external branch (27 branches in all), and founder members at the registration of the party at the Electoral Commission (EC), will be voting in today's election.

The Super Delegates conference will see the 10 presidential aspirants contesting for the NPP flagbearership position, trimmed to five, ahead of the crucial national conference scheduled to take place on November 4, 2023.

Aspirants

The 10 aspirants are: Alan Kyerematen, former Trade Minister, Dr. Owusu Afriyie Akoto, Former Agriculture Minister, Kennedy Agyapong, MP for Assin Central, Joe Ghartey, former Railways Minister,
Kwabena Agyei Agyepong, former NPP General Secretary, Kwadwo Poku, an energy expert, and Boakye Agyarko, former Energy Minister.

The rest are: Kofi Konadu Apraku, former Trade Minister, Francis Addai Nimoh, former Member of Parliament for Mampong and Vice President, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia.

Meanwhile, there's a heavy police presence at the various voting centres to maintain law and order.
