Leaked Tape: Focus On Your Work, Continue To Bring Honour To Ghana - Atik Mohammed To IGP

Former PNC General Secretary, Atik Mohammed has urged the Inspector General of Police, Dr. George Akuffo Dampare not to be perturbed by the leaked audio recording in which a supposed Police Commissioner and a former executive of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) are heard plotting for the removal of the IGP.

In the leaked audio recording that has gone viral, the two people could be heard discussing why the IGP must be dismissed.

Touching on the matter during Peace FM's "Kokrokoo" discussion programme, Atik Mohammed noted that whether IGP leaves or stays in office is the sole decision of the President of the Republic, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and to him, this tape is not authentic to convince the President to remove Dr. Dampare.

"The IGP stays or leaves on the authority of the President and if the President hasn't said he doesn't appreciate his work, all you are doing will result in nothing."

He charged the IGP to focus on his duties stressing "his service is to the Republic of Ghana and not to any political party".

"The IGP should continue to work and work to bring honour to Ghana," he encouraged Dr. George Akuffo Dampare.
