We've Been Neglected by Akufo-Addo's Gov't - School Feeding Caterers Cry Over Arrears

Caterers under the School Feeding Programme say they are disappointed in how the Nana Addo-led government is treating them.

Dorothy Ofori Sarpong who is the Regional Secretary in the Ashanti Region told NEAT FM’s morning show, 'Ghana Montie' that the government has neglected them – she also claimed they are not strangers in the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP).

“We [School Feeding Caterers] played our part in making sure NPP win the election, so why are they treating us like strangers in the party?” she questioned.

Adding that, “we also deserve best”.

Her complaint follows a nationwide strike by the caterers due to the government’s failure to pay them their arrears and increase the amount per child.

The caterers who have declared the strike are drawn from the 16 regions of Ghana.

According to them, they will not call off the strike until their concerns have been addressed.
