We Need Peace and Unity in Accra - Minister Cautions Youth Ahead of NDC/NPP Primaries

Henry Quartey has cautioned the youth against engaging in violent activities in the Greater Accra Region.

The Regional Minister advised them to maintain peace and unity, particularly now that both the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and National Democratic Congress (NDC) are gearing up to hold their primaries to elect Presidential and Parliamentary candidates into the 2024 general elections.

Mr. Quartey asked the youth not to "take the law into their hands", warning that "we don't want any violence in Accra. That we will see people wielding machetes and so forth because we will let the security intelligence agencies do their work without fear or favour".

"We need our peace and security in Greater Accra and as the Chairman of the Regional Security Council, I make a passionate appeal to the youth that we should calm down," he stressed while speaking in an interview on Peace FM's morning show "Kokrokoo".
