Even Rawlings Who Didn't Believe In Multiparty Democracy Listened - Prof Gyampo Stings Akufo-Addo

Political Scientist Prof Ransford Gyampo has criticized President Akufo-Addo for not listening to Ghanaians as far as reshuffling of his appointees is concerned.

It may be recalled that President Akufo-Addo, on February 7, 2023; nominated K.T Hammond (MP for Adansi Asokwa) as the minister-designate for Trade and Industry and Bryan Acheampong (MP for Abetifi) as the minister-designate for Food and Agriculture.

Stephen Asamoah Boateng (Asabee) is heading to the Ministry of Chieftaincy; Mohammed Amin Adam is the Minister of State at the Ministry of Finance and Osei Bonsu Amoah is the Minister of State for Local Government.

Stephen Amoah, popularly known as Sticka the Member of Parliament for Nhyiaeso, was also appointed a Deputy Minister-designate for Trade and Industry.

Herbert Krapah, previously the deputy Trade Minister was also moved to the Energy Ministry with the same rank.

Prof Gyampo speaking to this in an interview on Neat FM's Me Man Nti programme said it's 'disrespectful' to ignore the call of Ghanaians "who voted for you" and rather "fill in the gaps" in your government.

"President Akufo-Addo is the only one who has not been able to make any reshuffle...Even J.J Rawlings (late former President) who didn't believe in multiparty democracy listened. They (NPP) claim to have the men but with what is going on...Ghanaians have been calling for a reshuffle for so long and what he did was to fill in the gap which is not reshuffle. This intransigence about the call for a reshuffle by the President is quite disrespectful to the good people of Ghana..." he said.
