You Goofed!!! - Ellen Daaku Bites 'Braggart' Charles Adu Boahen Over Bawumia's "Appearance Fee"

Ellen Ama Daaku, a member of the Communication team of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) has reacted to the allegation levelled against Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia by former Minister of State at the Finance Ministry, Charles Adu Boahen.

Charles Adu Boahen in a recent investigative piece by ace investigative Journalist, Anas Aremeyaw Anas, reportedly said Dr. Bawumia required about USD200,000 as an 'appearance fee' from an investor to get his backing and influence in establishing a business in Ghana.

“You mean, like appearance fees and stuff? I mean he, himself (the Vice President), if you give him some (USD) 200,000 or something as a token, as thank you, appreciation, that’s fine. He’s not really, he’s not really (like) that. All he needs is to worry about his campaign money in 2020,” Charles Adu Boahen is quoted to have said.

This has however been debunked by the Vice President. The Minister has meanwhile been dismissed and the issue referred to the Special Prosecutor for investigations.

Ellen Ama Daaku contributing to a panel discussion on Peace FM’s 'The Platform' programme, Monday rebuked the former Minister for engaging in "influence peddling".

" . . he went bragging and boasting of being a businessman. What has Bawumia got to do with your business? Why did you mention his name; this is a clear case of influence peddling . . . you goofed," she stated.
