What Has Been Your Contribution to Where Ghana Is Today? - Kabila 'Punches' Subin MP

James Kwabena Bomfeh has vehemently descended on the New Patriotic Party(NPP) Member of Parliament for Subin constituency, Eugene Boakye Antwi for insisting that the Finance Minister, Ken Ofori-Atta must be sacked.

Hon. Eugene Boakye Antwi, in an interview on Peace FM's morning show 'Kokrokoo', has reitirated that President Akufo-Addo should heed the calls of the over 80 MPs calling for the heads of Minister for Finance, Ken Ofori-Atta and Charles Adu Boahen, Minister of State at the Finance Ministry.

The Majority Caucus in Parliament on Tuesday, at a press conference addressed by Member of Parliament for Asante Akyem North, Lawyer Andy Appiah Kubi, threatened to boycott Parliamentary sittings if the President does not relieve the two of their positions.

Democracy Is Not Family Dynasty

Speaking to host Kwami Sefa Kayi, Hon Boakye Antwi strongly argued that the Finance Minister "seems to be experimenting with this country and we've had enough."

He reinforced his position on the Finance Minister saying, "we have demonstrated to this country that there are genuine, honest, patriotic Ghanaians who have the country at heart...if he (President) says he won't remove Ken he should add Parliament to the Execuitve and rule Ghana with Ken Ofori-Atta".

"We are running a democracy not a family dynasty...we are not backing down, why should we back down?...we have many competent and experience people in this party and in Parliament to do the job that Ken Ofori-Atta is doing...if he likes we can nominate one but that is not the issue," he fumed.

Cut Akufo-Addo Some Slack

James Kwabena Bomfeh, also called 'Kabila', who is the Managing Editor of the National Forum newspaper, has asked the MPs to cut the President some slack.

According to him, the hardships Ghanaians are currently experiencing cannot be attributed to the President's performance nor the Finance Minister's.

He asserted that the economic problems are a consequence of the unfortunate events that have hit the nation in the past years.

"What is happening now is the consequence of what happened yesterday. Everything that is going on today is the result of things that have built up over the years. We all have to take responsibility," he argued.

Speaking on 'Kokrokoo' Wednesday morning, Kabila scolded the Subin MP by asking him "what has been his role in the over 20 years that he claims to have walked with the President, what has been his contribution to where we are now?"
